Sprinkler Service

Greg Tanzer Sprinklers and Outdoor Design will service any sprinklers system, even if we did not install, regardless of the brand. Our service technicians are experienced, proficient and carry an abundance of assorted parts on their trucks to fix almost any problem on the spot.

Your system will need to be turned on every spring, winterized every fall and we recommend a mid-season checkup which includes reviewing the working condition and coverage of your existing system. Property owners and managers should inspect their own system periodically by running it on a manual cycle and by checking landscape for dry spots or oversaturated areas. We offer an annual service contract which includes a turn-on, a service call, a winterization and a 10% discount on parts.

During the turn on of a sprinkler system, we pressurize the system, check for visual leaks, inspect and adjust all heads, test the backup battery and set the controller to the spring setting. If any repairs need to be made, the service technician will review them with the home owner. If it is possible to make them within the hour allotted for turn-on, they will be made during the turn-on. If there is not enough time to make the repair, a new appointment will have to be made.

If your sprinkler system is not working properly, we will send an experienced service technician to evaluate and repair it with a service call. If your repair can not be accomplished within the one hour time frame, we will reschedule another appointment with the proper amount of time needed to complete the repair.

It is crucial to winterize your system in order to prevent damage caused by freezing weather. There is always water in your system, when it freezes it will cause the pipes to crack and break. The specifications for winterizing a system include an air blow-out of all irrigation lines and shut down or unplugging of all controllers. You must winterize your system prior to the first freeze of the season in order to prevent any damage. Unfortunately, we cannot predict the date of the first freeze, so we recommend you schedule your appointment as early as possible.
